Anthony Heath's 1996-97 Annual Research Report
Anthony Heath (Official Fellow) has been directing a number of ESRC projects on voting behaviour in Britain. Together with his colleagues in the ESRC Centre for Research into Elections and Social Trends (CREST) he has been working on the 1997 British General Election Study (consisting of large-scale surveys of the British electorate both before and after the 1997 General Election). He has also undertaken, with Shamit Saggar (QMC) and Lindsay Brook (SCPR) the first ever major study of ethnic minority voting behaviour in Britain. Together with his colleagues in CREST (reinforced by Richard Wynn-Jones, Aberystwyth, and David McCrone, Edinburgh) he has also been working on surveys of participation in the Welsh and Scottish Referendums.
