Research Report 1998-2002

Alec Stone Sweet (Official Fellow, 1998-) works in the fields of comparative and international politics, and comparative and international law. Most of his research focuses on the sources and consquences of institutional change, that is, on how social norms evolve, with what effects. Since 1998, he has published articles in, among others, the American Journal of Sociology, the American Political Science Review, Comparative Political Studies, the European Law Journal, the Journal of European Public Policy, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, the Revue Française de Droit Constitutionnel, the Revue Française de Science Politique, and West European Politics. During the same period, he gave invited presentations in faculties of economics, sociology, political science, and law in Aix-en-Provence, Belfast, Bonn, Calcutta, Canberra, Copenhagen, Florence, Lisbon, Leiden, Madrid, Oslo, Paris, Sienna, Stockholm, Trento, and the U.S. (UC Berkeley, Harvard, NYU, Princeton).
