Bernie Hogan is a research fellow at the
Oxford Internet Institute and Research Associate at Nuffield College,
Oxford. He completed his doctorate in 2008 at the University of Toronto
under Barry Wellman. His work focuses primarily on ego-centered
networks, either through respondent recall or behavioral traces (such as
email discussion). His current work (in collaboration with danah boyd
Microsoft Research) focuses on how perceptions of personal network
structure on Facebook lead to differences in identity management and
self-presentation. This work is part of a long-term project on effective
social
network-oriented interview strategies.
