I'm a third-year doctoral researcher in Sociology at the European University Institute. My research interests lie in social stratification, with a particular interest in how inequalities are constructed both socially and institutionally in modern societies.

In my current research, I'm interested in questions on the intergenerational reproduction of education and social status and how social background, together with geography and spatial-temporal environment, modifies inequality of educational opportunity. Using administrative register data from Finland, I study the geography of educational inequality, trends in primary and secondary effects on educational transitions, and possible reasons behind educational retrenchment.
