Lucy Song is an MPhil student in International Relations. Her research interests pertain to the relationship between domestic politics and foreign policy, especially in a comparative context. In particular, she is interested in the influence of national identity and public opinion on the formulation of state foreign policy. Relatedly, she is also interested in how states' concern for status and hierarchy in the international system shapes their foreign policy choices, and how leaders consolidate their domestic legitimacy through executing certain foreign policy decisions.
She holds a B.A. in History (High Distinction) from the University of California, Berkeley, and is supported by the Clarendon Scholarship.
