Makiko Nishitani is Associate Professor of International Relations at Kobe University. She is interested in the possibilities and challenges of today's polycentric global governance, which is characterized by a diversity of stakeholders, including international organizations, civil society organizations, corporations, as well as states. She has been working on a nexus between global governance, international norms, and transnational networks, and especially in the past several years, focusing on global anti-corruption governance and new modes of governance including orchestration.
