Dr Nicola de Jager (PhD Political Science) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. She is also a Research Associate of the Transformation Research Unit (TRU) and heads its Southern African research team. TRU is an international research unit investigating and comparing democratic processes across the globe. She is editor of South African Politics: An Introduction (2015) published by Oxford University Press and co-editor with Pierre du Toit of Friend or Foe? Dominant party systems in southern Africa (2013) published by the University of Cape Town Press and the United Nations University Press. Research interests and article publications include topics on religion and politics, democratisation and Southern African politics.
