Research Interests: International forest policy implementation; practical implementation of climate mitigation policy.
Sophia Carodenuto's primary research interest is public policy related natural resource management in developing countries. She received her MSc in Environmental Governance from Freiburg University and has a PhD in Environmental Policy, with a focus on forest governance in the Congo Basin.
As a consultant with UNIQUE forestry and land use, she regularly advises developing country governments, private business, multi- and bilateral donor agencies in their efforts to support sustainable forest management. Her work also involves practical implementation of climate mitigation policy. Her geographic focus has been mainly in Africa, but she has also worked in South and Central America, the Caribbean and Pacific Island States.
