Thor Berger received his PhD in economic history from Lund University in 2017. Currently, he is a Wallander Post-Doctoral Fellow at Stockholm University, Affiliated Researcher at the Centre for Economic Demography, Lund University, and Associate Fellow at the Oxford Martin School, University of Oxford. His current research straddles the intersection of economic geography, economic history, and sociology focusing on spatial and temporal differences in intergenerational mobility in historical and modern settings. His work has been published in journals such as Demography and PNAS, and has been widely covered in the media.
