The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar and teacher to the Professorship of Sociology with effect from 1 September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be held at the Department of Sociology and in conjunction with a Professorial Fellowship at Nuffield College. Despite its relatively recent establishment, it has become one of the highest profile statutory chairs in the field nationally and internationally.
The successful applicant will be a scholar of international distinction with an outstanding record of research publication in the field of sociology and with a proven leadership record.
