The III Annual REPLA Workshop will be held at the University of Salamanca in 2009. This event will bring together postgraduate researchers working in distinct but interrelated areas of enquiry, as well as established academics, to engage in a timely debate on the state of contemporary Latin American politics. This will be a rare opportunity to participate in an interdisciplinary research network of academic institutions throughout Europe and with strong links to research centres and academics in Latin America.

The European Network on Latin American Politics (REPLA) is an academic initiative, launched by PhD students interested on Latin American politics. REPLA is aimed at establishing a formal network of academic institutions focused on Latin American Studies.

Paper proposals, deadlines and grants:

  • Abstracts should be between 500 and 700 words. Every paper proposal should clearly indicate: title, panel to which it is directed, research objectives and methodology
  • Working languages: papers can be presented either in English or in Spanish
  • Acceptance of participants will be communicated by December 20th, 2008
  • Deadline for submission of paper proposals: December 22nd, 2008
  • Deadline for final papers: April 1st, 2009

Grants

REPLA will provide lodging (hotel rooms on May 6 and 7 2009) and transport from Madrid and Valladolid to Salamanca for all participants (round-trip ticket). Additional costs are to be covered by individual participants.
