CESS promotes and facilitates experimental research.
Nuffield College has a strong commitment to promoting cross-disciplinary scholarship in the social sciences, and one of our founding principles is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas between the academic and public worlds.
Our research centres have been established to further these aims. While each centre may have a primary research focus, they all aim to galvanise academic enquiry across different disciplines and harness expertise across different sectors of society in order to address social, political or economic challenges. They also actively promote engagement with practitioners, policy makers, and the public world more generally.
