Visiting Fellows in 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours
Two Nuffield Visiting Fellows – Carolyn Fairbairn and Norman Lamb – were named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for 2019.
Carolyn Fairbairn was awarded a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to UK Business. Carolyn is the Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), having previously worked as the BBC’s Director of Strategy and a partner of McKinsey, leading the firm’s media practice.
Norman Lamb, the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for North Norfolk and Minister of Health from 2012 to 2015, was knighted for public and political service, which noted, in particular, his mental health work.
