This event is part of the New Frontiers: Digital Methods in Economic History Workshop Series

This new seminar series, which will convene one or twice termly, will introduce economic and social history students and faculty to the new methods frontier in economic history, such as the use of artificial intelligence in data extraction and classification, and textual analysis. The seminars will be given by economic historians who employ such methods in their research, and organised around use-cases rather than tools, such as automated digitization of text, linking of records, word grouping and classification, and accessing and working with digitized corpuses.

Attendance is voluntary, and the sessions are aimed at students and faculty with an interest in applying such methods in their dissertations or other future research.

This series is organised by Victoria Gierok and Rebecca Simson.
