Our Equality Objectives and Action Plan 2024/28
Our Equality Objectives for the period 2024/28, as agreed by the Nuffield College Governing Body on 12 June 2024, are as follows:
- Increase understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion within the College community.
This may include knowledge about equality legislation, sector-wide EDI issues and EDI practice, as appropriate to individuals' role in College. - Foster a culture where every member of College feels respected, included and supported.
We aspire for every College member to feel they belong at Nuffield, no matter their background, equality characteristics, position in College, or prior experience of Nuffield and/or Oxford. - Ensure a diverse student body, academic and professional staffing body.
This includes identifying areas of underrepresentation within the staff (academic and professional) and student bodies, and taking appropriate and proportionate action to address this. - Improve the experience of disabled staff (academic and professional), students and visitors.
- Ensure the College's policies, procedures, practice and support around harassment, sexual misconduct, discrimination and bullying are fit for purpose and widely understood.
These objectives, and a corresponding plan for actions, monitoring and evaluation, were developed following a wide-ranging EDI Review of Nuffield College conducted with Advance HE. The results of the review are available in executive summary and in full (login may be required to access the full report).
Updates on action taken towards achieving our Equality Objectives will be added to this page throughout the 2024/28 academic years.
