Hannamiina Tanninen is an analyst at the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (SUPO), a doctoral candidate at the Department of Military Technology of the Finnish National Defence University and a visiting fellow at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on the use of economic intelligence to model Finnish supply security and social resilience in times of crisis.
Prior to her work as an analyst, Hannamiina worked for ten years in Hong Kong as a foreign correspondent. She published over thousand articles over the course of her career as a journalist, covering subjects ranging from the 2019 Hong Kong protests to the regional impact of China’s economic policies. She also served as the First Vice President of the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents Club. Hannamiina is the author of two books on China. Hannamiina holds a Bachelors in Economics and China Business from the City University of Hong Kong and a Masters with distinction in China Development Studies from the University of Hong Kong.
