The number of out LGBTQ+ candidates and elected officials has grown exponentially over the last few decades. There are now thousands of out queer politicians throughout the world and they have played a significant role in legal and social transformation.
In this event to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion, Professor Andy Reynolds will discuss his recent work focused on the experiences of LGBTQ+ candidates and politicians, voters’ reactions to LGBTQ+ candidates, and cross-national trends in the visibility of queer political leaders.

About the speaker
Andy Reynolds is a Senior Research Scholar at Princeton University and the founder of QueerPolitics, a hub of research and scholarship for LGBTQ+ justice and equality.
His recent publications include The Children of Harvey Milk: How LGBTQ Politicians Changed the World, Oxford University Press 2018.
