Fellow wins public engagement award from European Research Council

Professorial Fellow Lucie Cluver received the 2024 award for successfully engaging audiences beyond the scientific community.

Professorial Fellow Lucie Cluver has been awarded a 2024 Public Engagement with Research Prize by the European Research Council.

Lucie was recognised ‘for initiating and fostering global collaboration to provide research-based parenting support in crises, improving the well-being of millions worldwide’ in her project ‘ParentPOWER’. Co-led with Jamie Lachman (Professor of Child and Family Global Health at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention), the project supports families in crisis by providing evidence-based parenting resources. It has reached millions of families worldwide during the pandemic and in conflict zones.

Lucie joined five other academics from across Europe who received the award at a ceremony in Brussels in October 2024.

The announcement was made by the European Research Council on 24 October 2024.
