Francesco Fioritto
I am a DPhil candidate in Social Policy, under the supervision of Prof. Jane Gingrich, supported by scholarships from the Clarendon Fund and Nuffield College. My thesis aims to understand how interclass contact affects political attitudes in the context of gentrifying neighbourhoods, with a particular focus on the mediating role of public services and social housing.
Prior to starting my DPhil, I completed a master’s degree in development studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a thesis on how trade competition from China affects sub-national labour market trends in the Visegrád Countries, and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Durham.
During my studies, I was a research assistant for Prof. Bruno Palier at Sciences Po Paris, where I worked on projects in the field of comparative social policy and comparative political economy.
My pronouns are he/him.
