Jonas Fischer

DPhil in Public Policy

I am a DPhil student at the Blavatnik School of Government and Nuffield College. I work primarily in the field of Comparative Political Economy.

My current research interests lie at the intersection of climate change and business power. I aspire to understand how technological advancements in decarbonisation, economic and political institutions, and sectoral characteristics shape the political dynamics of opposing and supporting interest groups in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Before joining the University of Oxford, I was a doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin. My teaching included courses on interest group politics, economic growth and the politics of climate change, and German politics. Even prior, I graduated from the MA programme at the same department with a thesis on deindustrialisation and the political geography of climate change.
