Lara Forlino
I am a DPhil student in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations. My doctoral research, supervised by Professors Ezequiel González-Ocantos and David Rueda, is generously funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Nuffield College.
My research examines how non-state actors shape and intermediate social policy in Latin America. Specifically, I study the determinants and trade-offs of intermediation in programmes targeting labour market outsiders. More broadly, I am interested in debates about development, inequality, policy effectiveness, and the long-term sustainability of social policies.
Before starting the DPhil, I completed an MSc in Applied Economics and a BA in Political Science and Government at Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also have professional experience across the academic, private, and third sectors, having worked in teaching, research, and consulting roles across universities, think tanks, research centres, and consulting firms.
