Santiago Truccone
Assistant Professor (fixed term) in the Section of Practical Philosophy, University of Graz (Austria)
I am a University Assistant with a Doctorate (Researcher and Lecturer) at the Section of Practical Philosophy, University of Graz. I studied Philosophy at the University of Graz (Phd) and Law at the National University of Córdoba (Dr) and at the University of Salamanca (MU).
I recently published my first book, entitled The Temporal Dimension of Justice: From Post-Colonial Injustices to Climate Reparations (Berlin and Boston: De Gruyter, 2024). I edited a special issue on historical injustice for Res Publica (2024), and my work has appeared in the European Journal of Political Theory, the Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy, the Journal of Ethics, Moral Philosophy and Politics, and Environmental Values, among others.
My research focuses on climate, historical, and punitive justice. I am currently exploring the concept of climate crime. I am also interested in unjust enrichment in the context of climate and historical justice, as well as legitimate expectations, and how their frustration might provide grounds for compensation in the transition to a net-zero emissions society. Previously, my research focused on how changing circumstances can supersede historical injustices and the non-identity problem, as well as the concept of harm.
