This informal gathering of alumni and friends will feature three Nuffield alumni discussing their recently published books, followed by a Q&A. Featured authors include: Thomas Laqueur (BLitt Modern History 1971), Professor of History Emeritus at UC Berkeley, and his book The Dog’s Gaze: A Visual History; Michelle Jackson (DPhil Sociology 1999), Associate Professor of Sociology at Stanford, with her book The Division of Rationalized Labor; and Stephen Broadberry (MPhil Economics 1978), Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford, with his book Economic Warfare and Sanctions Since 1688. Guests are welcome to attend in person or virtually from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Those attending in person are most welcome to join us for high table following the session.
