18th Annual Conference of the International Network of Analytical Sociology
1st to 3rd July 2026
Nuffield College and the Department of Sociology
We are pleased to announce that INAS 2026 will take place from 1st to 3rd July 2026 at the University of Oxford, hosted by Nuffield College and the Department of Sociology. The conference will host a Women’s Forum on the first day, followed by two days of keynotes, panels, and parallel sessions. Katrin Auspurg and Clemens Kroneberg will deliver the keynotes. The conference will feature a panel on open science and transparency in qualitative and quantitative sociology and other interactive events.
This year’s organisers are Ozan Aksoy, Kasimir Dederichs, David Kretschmer, and Anica Waldendorf.

Call for papers
We invite you to submit an abstract (max. 350 words) using this form.
Reflecting the breadth of analytical sociology, we welcome submissions on any sociological topic using any method (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, experimental, simulation-based, historical). We especially encourage applications that examine social mechanisms and the macro-level phenomena they give rise to. Note that only one submission is allowed per presenting author.

Keynote speakers
Katrin Auspurg
Katrin Auspurg is Professor of Sociology at LMU Munich, Germany. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Konstanz (2010). Her research interests include labour market, housing, and family inequalities, discrimination, experimental and survey methods, analytical sociology, environmental sociology, and the replicability of social science research. Clemens Kroneberg
Clemens Kroneberg is Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology and Social Psychology at the University of Cologne. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Mannheim in 2009. His research interests include analytical sociology, migration and integration, crime and deviance, and social boundary-making. For more information, see his webpage.
Women's Forum
The Women’s Forum aims to enhance recognition of the work, perspectives, and expertise of women within the broader analytical sociology community. We will meet on July 1st in the afternoon and host flash talks for junior scholars as well as a panel on women in academia. The event is open to everyone. It is an informal setting for people to get to know each other and we will go for drinks afterwards.
Registration
The conference fee will be £240, to be paid at registration. The registration system will be available here in due course.
We are pleased to offer up to 10 fee waivers to PhD students and researchers from low-income countries. If you would like to be considered for a fee waiver, please send an email to inas2026oxford@gmail.com by 1st February 2026. We will let you know about the outcome together with the notification of acceptance.
