Joshua Berry

Master of Science in Politics Research

Josh is an MSc Candidate in Politics Research at the Department of Politics and International Relations. His studies are generously funded by Nuffield College and the Clarendon Scholarship.

Josh's research combines insights from computational social science, political psychology, and political communication to study public opinion, regulation, and disinformation in democratic countries. More broadly, he is interested in developing experimental, machine learning, and computational methodologies for social science research.

Josh is from New Paltz, New York. Prior to Oxford, Josh graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, where he received his A.B. in Government (Concentration) and Economics (Secondary). At Harvard, Josh was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa and his senior thesis won Harvard's James Gordon Bennet Prize for "best essay... on some subject of American governmental, domestic, or foreign policy."

Outside academia, Josh previously worked as a management consultant for BCG, where he focused on evaluating evidence-based interventions for tech, financial services, and government organizations.
