Moving out/leaving Nuffield

Leaving students

You must vacate your room (bedsit/set/bedroom/office) and return the key fob by 31 August at the latest. If you don't do this you run the risk of incurring extra charges. Please remember to settle your battels account before leaving. If you do not do this, and we do not have a forwarding address, it is possible that you will incur a late payment charge.

You must remove all personal items from your room. Please double-check cupboards and drawers for personal belongings and take them with you, along with your bicycle if you have one. Any items left in rooms will be kept for one month and then disposed of. If you have items that you no longer want, dispose of them responsibly - check with other students to see if they can use them or donate them to charity. There is a charity shop in the town centre which will accept clothing, books, bric-a-brac etc - The British Heart Foundation shop in St Ebbes.

The College will provide an accommodation reference should you require one, within three weeks of receiving a request. References are factual, and will not include character, medical or welfare details. The reference may indicate whether Nuffield would rent to you again. A request for a reference should be sent to bursary@nuffield.ox.ac.uk, and include your written consent for the College to send the relevant details.

On leaving Nuffield, you will become an alum. Please leave a forwarding address with the Development Office to receive alumni information and invitations.

Students moving rooms

You must move rooms by 31 August at the latest. If you will be away from College for the Long Vacation, you will need to box and clearly label all your belongings and move them out of your room before you leave. Please talk to the current occupant of your new room - you may be able to move your belongings there early (boxed up), or move in early if they have already left. After problems encountered in previous years, it is not possible for you to leave your belongings in your room until you return (unless this is before 31 August).

if you will be in College over the Long Vacation, please let me or the Lodge Porter know when you plan to move rooms, so that access can be activated on your key fob.

If you are staying in the same room there is obviously no need to take this action.

The College does not have any storage space to store student belongings. The closest storage company is Magenta on the Botley Road.
