Internet / wi-fi

Internet access is provisioned at no extra cost to students. Our accommodation gives access to the University network via the Janet academic network and to the Internet via wired networking (Ethernet) and Wifi.

Students are able to create a ‘home network’ of wirelessly-connected devices, visible to them and their devices but private from others on the wireless network.

Office space

Students with a bedroom in 50 Walton Street or without eligibility for residential accommodation will get office space onsite. This may be a single office, or a space in a shared office. The standard list of items provided covers:

Desk chair
Easy chair
Bookcase
Noticeboard
Whiteboard
Monitor
Desk lamp

Meals and catering in College

Nuffield offers breakfast, lunch, low table dinner and High Table dinner during term; breakfast, lunch and low table dinner out of term, with the exception of August (no dinners) and closed periods, when there is no catering available. Lunch is available at no extra cost. Breakfast and dinners are charged for - students are able to sign up to termly plans for both. You will receive information from the Finance Department on arrival. Further information is available in the Student Handbook, section 3.5.

Accessibility

The College's Access Guide is available here. If you have accessibility requirements, you should make this known to the Senior Tutor at the earliest opportunity, but certainly on confirming your acceptance of an offer.

Parking

The College cannot offer any parking to students, and strongly discourages students from bringing a car to Oxford. Parking is expensive, and there are bus filters about to be brought in throughout the city centre. Information on local public transport can be found here.
