Nuffield welcomes new Director of Library Services

We are delighted to welcome Jane Rawson to the College as the new Director of Library Services. As Director of Library Services, Jane will be responsible for managing the Nuffield College Library and developing its services and collection.

Jane comes to Nuffield from the Vere Harmsworth Library (one of the Bodleian Libraries) which houses the University’s principal research collection relating to the history and politics of the United States. On joining the Nuffield Library, Jane remarked:

“I am delighted to be taking up the role of Director of Library Services at Nuffield College and look forward to working with the College community and supporting their academic endeavours over the coming years.

"The College Library is at an exciting point in its development, with great potential to offer excellent research support services to all members of the College. I would be happy to hear from anyone with their thoughts on the service that we provide already or could provide in future.”

As Librarian at the Vere Harmsworth Library, Jane managed the collections and library services, whilst at the same time acting as Administrator at the Rothermere American Institute and Special Initiatives Projects Officer for the Bodleian Humanities Libraries. She has also worked at the Bodleian’s Health Care and Social Science Libraries.

On her appointment, Nuffield’s Senior Tutor Eleni Kechagia-Ovseiko commented:

“We are very excited to have Jane joining us at Nuffield as our new Director of Library Services. The Library is at the heart of the College’s academic life, and with Jane’s leadership and together with our dedicated team of Library professionals, it will continue to provide unparalleled support for the College’s community, in response to the changing needs of social sciences research.”
